James E. "Jim" Fore, 74, Galveston, passed away peacefully at his home early Friday morning, Sept. 1, 2017. He was born July 22, 1943, in Navada County, Arkansas, to Foy James and Willie Blanche (Purtle) Fore. He married Beverly J. Osborn on Feb. 17, 1967, in Kokomo, and she survives.
Jim retired from Kokomo Sanitary Pottery with 39 years service. He had also worked for the Galveston Cemetery the past ten years, along with his wife Beverly.
Jim graduated from Cale High School in 1962 in Arkansas; he enjoyed fishing, gardening and woodworking. He served his country in the United States Air Force from 1964 to 1968.
Surviving family include his wife Beverly J. Fore, Galveston; son, Jeff A. (Michele) Fore, Noblesville; daughter, Kristi J. (Brian) Morgan, Galveston; grandchildren, Karisa (Victor Bruce) Nahodil, Galveston, Kelly Fore, Noblesville; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Jean and Levi Alan Nahodil, Galveston; brother, Dale (Mary Frances) Fore, Prescott, Arkansas; and eight nieces and several great-nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Billy Wayne and Bobby J. Fore; and sister, Marvie Sue McNatt.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 5, at Galveston Cemetery with Rev. Don McDowell officiating. Military honors will also be observed. In keeping with Jim's wishes, no visitation will be held.
