James E.'s Story
James E. "Herm" Laudenschlager, 52, Kokomo, passed away at 11:15 a.m. Thursday, April 27, 2017, at Community North Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born Thursday, Aug. 13, 1964, in Muncie, the son of Ronald and Nancy (VanGilder) Laudenschlager. On April 8, 1989, he married Shirley M. Stout, who survives.
James was a 1982 graduate of North Miami High School and a 1983 graduate of Lincoln Tech. He worked as a mechanic for Summer Place (Richardson Place) in Tipton County. James was a member of Gospel Light Missions Church and the Northeast Indiana GTO.
James is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Shirley M. Laudenschlager, Kokomo; parents, Ronald and Nancy Laudenschlager, Peru; son, Andrew Laudenschlager, Kokomo; siblings, Dave (Di) Laudenschlager, Walton, Mark (Anita) Laudenschlager, Peru, Dan (Carmen) Laudenschlager, Fishers, and Ruth (Troy) Caldwell, Kokomo; along with several nieces and nephews.
James was preceded in death by his grandparents.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, May 1, 2017, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, with Pastor Terry Russell officiating. Burial will follow in Albright Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
