Jacob Alan Stoops, 18, Arcadia, passed away Saturday, May 6, 2017, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born Aug. 19, 1998, to Kerry Alan and Tamie Renae (Huskins) Stoops in Noblesville, Indiana. His father preceded him in death.
Jacob was a senior at Hamilton Heights High School and had been serving an internship with Chrysler Corp. in Kokomo. He attended Amana Missionary Baptist Church in Kokomo. In his younger years, he played basketball, soccer and ran track.
Jacob's love for mechanical engineering and knowing how things work led him to build his own computer at age 14. He loved learning about anything from cars, computers, politics, nature, food and the food industry, the government, conspiracy theories, animals, chemistry, machines, anything. The amazing part is he could watch a video and read an article and then tell exactly what he learned. He enjoyed riding four-wheelers and snowmobiles, working on cars, and he loved roller coasters (especially Cedar Point). He loved his dogs, friends and family and enjoyed every moment he could spend with them. Jacob had received a two-year scholarship to attend Ivy Tech Community College next year.
He is survived by his mother, Tamie Renae Stoops; maternal grandparents, Elder Rick and Virgie Huskins; paternal grandmother, Janice Fisher; aunts and uncles, Richard and Kimberly Huskins, Cory and Lisa Huskins, Misty Dawn O'Neal and Dan Morrison, and Craig and Ann Stoops; his girlfriend, Nikki Wanczyk; and several cousins and other friends.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandfather, Rex Stoops.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, May 15, 2017, at Randall & Roberts Funeral Center, 1685 Westfield Road in Noblesville, with Pastor Jeff Moran and Pastor Bruce Adamson officiating. Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, May 14, 2017, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery in Arcadia.
