Harold J. Brantley, 57, passed away Wednesday, May 24, 2017, at his residence in Lawrenceville, Illinois. He was born April 29, 1960 in Kokomo, to the late Albert and Lillie (Williamson) Brantley.
Harold graduated from high school in Carmel, and then worked several jobs, including a janitor for the Veterans of Foreign Wars and assisting his nephew with mowing yards.
Harold was a member of the VFW, and enjoyed playing bingo as well as collecting coins. He spent most of his time caring for his mother, Lillie, in her later years until she passed in 2004.
Harold is survived by four sisters, Irene Robertson, Rub Jackson, Faye Shouse and Reba Huddleston; three brothers, Billy (Ann) Brantley, Edward (Sue) Brantley and Iven (Saundra) Brantley; and 30 nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by two sisters, Ada Brantley and Velda Turner.
A visitation for Harold will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 30, at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home in Kokomo. There will be a funeral service at 1 p.m. May 31 at the funeral home, and then Harold will be laid to rest in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery.
