Gary C. Kobel, 69, Kokomo, passed peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family Friday, March 31, 2017.
Gary was born on Oct. 23, 1947 to Theodore Andrew and Ruth Kobel (Dahl) in Hartford, Connecticut.
Gary was married to Rebecca Ann Kobel (Wells) for the past 15 years.
Gary enjoyed collecting all sorts of sports memorabilia, including baseball cards. His was a kind, compassionate and giving man. He donated to many charitable organizations over the years. He was a member of New Life Church. Gary honorably served this great country during the Vietnam War with the United States Army.
He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Ann Kobel; sons, Gary C. Kobel Jr. and Tommy (StacyOkonski) King; daughters, Terrie A. Travieso, Danell M. Kobel Paniss, Rhode Island, Tracy and Crystal King, Forest Park, Illinois; brothers, Theodore Kobel Jr., Woodlands, Texas, and Kurt W. Kobel, Hudson, Florida; sister, Kimberley R. Simeone, New Port Richey, Florida; and grandchildren, Nikki and Brianna Kobel, Nastassia Hunt, Julianna, Monila, Daniel Paniss, Haley and Andrew Travieso, Averie King, and Alexis Pedraza.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday April 4, 2017, with visitation from 10 a.m. until time of service, and from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 3, 2017, at Ellers Mortuary, 3400 S. Webster St. Interment with Military Honors will be at Marion National Cemetery at 2 p.m. April 4, 2017.
