Garold "Gary" Lee Armstrong, 78, passed away at 1:34 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 24, 2017, at Aperion Care in Peru. Gary was born in Bunker Hill on Oct. 19, 1938, to Joseph and Edna Armstrong (deceased).
Gary was a Navy veteran, worked over 30 years for Chrysler LLC, and worked as a janitor at Randall Elementary School. Gary enjoyed being outdoors, cutting trees and spending time with his family.
He is survived by sister, Peggy Gruel; two sons, Troy Armstrong and wife Jill (Petty) Armstrong and Tony Armstrong and wife Justina (Gartrelle) Armstrong; five grandchildren, Krista (Armstrong) Gorski and husband Jacob Gorski, Lorraine Armstrong, Trent Armstrong, Travis Armstrong and Trace Armstrong; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Edna Armstrong; brothers, Claude Armstrong, Ralph Armstrong and Richard Armstrong; and sisters Helen Martin, Elsie Easton, Ruth Floyd and Betty Conliff.
Visitation and services will be held at Allen Funeral Home in Bunker Hill on Monday, Aug. 28, 2017. Viewing from noon to 2 p.m. with funeral services to follow at 2 p.m. Pastor Kenny Cole will be officiating the service.
