Edith Leola Moody Cranor, 94, Greentown, passed away peacefully at 12:11 p.m. Monday, May 29, 2017, in Century Villa Healthcare, with her family by her side. She was the daughter of Walter and Edna Moody, who preceded her in death. She was born July 8, 1922, in Mommouth, Illinois. At the age of 3 she moved to Howard County and lived there until her death. On Sept. 3, 1939, she married the love of her life, Marcus Cranor, who preceded her in death July 1997.
Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her family as she is survived by her daughter and son-n-law, Diana Kendall and Jerry; two grandchildren, LeeAnn Salmons and her husband Jason, and Douglas Elliott and his wife Cindy; three stepgrandchildren, Jason Kendall and wife Julie, Misty Kay and Brandon Kendall; great-grandchildren, Amber Dell White and her husband Josh, Jordan Mulkey and Courtney Elliott; stepgreat-grandchildren, Cora and Charlie Kendall, Zachary, Lauren, Madison Kay; and three great-great-grandchildren, Kaidan Dell, Kennedy and Andrew White.
Edith was a 50-year member of Swayzee O.E.S. and also a member of the Greentown O.E.S. She was a member of the Union and Jackson Home Demonstration Club, Research Club, Past Matron Club Swayzee and Greentown, and Maha Shrine Club.
Edith loved spending time with family, laughing and always wearing a smile on her face. She was a loving and caring person, devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend, always thinking of others first.
The family would like to express its thanks to the entire staff of Century Villa for the wonderful help and care they provided.
Visitation for family and friends will be 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, with an Eastern Star service at 7:30 p.m. at Hasler & Stout Funeral Home, 112 E. Main St., Greentown. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, also at the funeral home, with Pastor David Stokes officiating. Burial will follow the service in Greenlawn Cemetery, Greentown.
