Dorothy Gayle "Tiny" Bowen DeBusk, 69, Greentown, passed away Tuesday, March 7, 2017, at St. Vincent Kokomo. She was born May 3, 1947, in Dillon, South Carolina, to Clifford A. "Dick" and Ethel C. (Church) Bowen. On March 6, 1963, she married Frederick E. DeBusk, who preceded her in death Oct. 13, 1994.
Dorothy was previously employed at Milbank Manufacturing in Kokomo and was a member of The Women of the Moose.
Surviving are her two daughters, Penny and husband Aaron Beaty, Tipton, and Michelle and husband Jeff Bums, Junction City, Arkansas. Other survivors include her grandchildren, Seth and Crystal Beaty, Jennifer Lynn Beaty, Bradley and Staci Smith, Kara Smith (Matthew Baker) and her five great-grandchildren, Hudson Beaty, Aaron Beaty, Hope Smith, Lavendar Smith and Oliver Baker, along with a special friend, Fred Walker. Surviving siblings include her sisters, Vivian Bethea, Dillon, South Carolina, Bonnie and Dr. Sidney Sawyer, Falkville, Alabama, and her brothers, Wayne and Karen Bowen, Dillon, South Carolina, and Johnny and Melba Bowen, Kingstree, South Carolina. Other survivors include her brothers-in-law, John and Sis DeBusk, Ron and Janet DeBusk, Charlie and Virgie DeBusk, Jim Allman and sisters-in-Iaw, Barbara Cockrell, Brenda and Larry Keller, Jim Allman and her bonus daughter Kim (Shrock) Stipes.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frederick DeBusk; brothers-in-law, Bobby Bethea, Don DeBusk; and sisters-in-law, Linda and (Fred) Bellinger and Norma Allman.
A celebration of life service will be 5 p.m. Friday, March 10, at Tipton Moose Lodge. The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. until the time of services on the same date. In July, a celebration will be held at Pawleys Island, South Carolina. The date and time for this celebration will be announced in the near future.
