Donna Jean Schaaf Guge, 68, Greentown, entered heavenly peace at 3:40 p.m. Sunday, April 9, 2017. She was surrounded by her loving family. Donna was born April 29, 1948, in Kokomo to her parents, Wayne and Geneva (Kline) Schaaf. She was the fourth of six children.
She attended Jackson Elementary and Middle School and attended Eastern High School. She was employed at Community Howard Regional Health laundry service from 1968 to 1970. She started working as a custodian at Eastern High School in 1975 and she retired in 2014 after 39 years of dedicated service. She made many lifelong friends and watched many children grow up to become young adults. She always loved her job and touched the lives of many of the students and remained a part of their lives long after they graduated.
In 1966 she married Rick Coffman and they had a son, Chris Coffman. In 1969 she married Dick Donovan and they had a daughter, Jodie Donovan. Dick preceded her in death March 9, 1983. On Oct. 13, 1990, Donna married Charles R. Guge Jr. They were happily married for 17 years prior to his passing on Oct. 29, 2007. She then found companionship with a very special friend, Gary Williams.
She always had a fascination and passion for sewing that started at a very young age with her mother teaching her. She continued that passion throughout her life. She sewed patches on uniforms for the police and fire departments. She also had numerous regular customers for other sewing jobs. She also made memory bears for people who had loved ones who had passed. In total 148 bears were made for people to cherish.
Donna was welcomed into her new church home at Christian Life Fellowship and instantly made many friends and was devoted to serving God.
She was loved by all who knew her and was always willing to help others. She loved to shop and always had an eye for fashion and decorating.
Donna was a devoted mother to her children, Chris Coffman and Jodie (Andrew) Anthony.
