Donald Dean Oak, 56, passed away Monday, March 20, 2017, at his home. Don was born May 17, 1960, to James and Margaret Oak in Carrollton, Kentucky. He married Annie Skaggs in 1984 in Carrollton, Kentucky.
Don loved spending time with his grandkids, aggravating them and watching them at the baseball park. He liked to fish and drive his golf cart around the neighborhood. He also loved motorcycles. Don never knew a stranger. Everybody loved him, and he loved everybody. Don loved his family, and missed his family in Kentucky. He was the best husband, dad and papaw ever.
Don is survived by his wife, Annie Oak; children, Alissa Skaggs, Kylie (Anthony Clark) Groover, Gale Skaggs, Chris Pegg, Billy Oak, and Tim Gordon; siblings, John, Evelyn, Christine, Pauline, Charles, Cindy and Gerald, Kentucky; grandchildren, Jasmine Skaggs, Sommur Skaggs, Kyler Groover, Perry D. Groover, Autumn Skaggs, Amari Harmon, and Blaine Skaggs; several nieces and nephews; and one great-grandson on the way, Tru'Viar Skaggs.
Don was preceded in death by his parents; mother-in-law, Jewel Hunt; six siblings; and grandson, Colvin Blaine Groover.
Friends and family may call from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Ellers Mortuary, Webster Street Chapel. A service will be at 4 p.m. Saturday, also at the mortuary, officiated by the Rev. Darrell Colburn.
