Donald Edwin Kesler, 79, Kokomo, passed away at 10:42 p.m. Thursday, March 30, 2017, at his home. He was born July 14, 1937, in Grant County, the son of the late Henry Eugene and Valneda (Collier) Kesler. On Jan. 26, 1959, he married Sarah Sue Pence, and she survives.
Donald served with the United States Marine Corps. He was a retired truck driver, and his passion was reading the Bible and listening to easy music. Donald enjoyed spending time with his family, watching trains, and old western movies.
Donald is survived by his wife, Sarah Sue Kesler, Kokomo; children, Donna (Gary) DeWitt, Pennie (Dan) Clarke, and Donald Kesler II; grandchildren, Rick DeWitt, Bryan DeWitt, Earl Sickbert III, Amanda (Travis) Donson, Vincent Snyder, Trevor Kesler; three great-grandchildren, Lilly Powell, Jared Donson, and Will DeWitt; sister, Shirley Land; brother, James R. Kesler; and several nieces and nephews.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Velma Jeane Morris.
Funeral services for Donald will be 4 p.m. Sunday, April 2, 2017, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, with Pastor Barry Akers officiating. Cremation will follow services.
