Dawn Marie Burns, 51, Russiaville, passed away Sunday, May 28, 2017, at Loyola University Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois. She was born April 4, 1966, in Kokomo, to Jerry and Madeline Susie (Morrison) Hobbs. On July 25, 1998, she married Christopher C. Burns, in Kokomo, and he survives.
Dawn graduated from Kokomo High School in 1984. She worked as a clerk for Moore Title & Escrow and in security at Chrysler. She loved her cats and enjoyed following politics and hanging out with friends. She cherished her family and loved watching her granddaughter grow up.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Heather Hobbs, Indianapolis; granddaughter, Angelicia Mercado; mother, Susie Hobbs, Russiaville; brothers, Brett (Debbie) Hobbs, Kokomo, and Greg Hobbs, Kokomo; sister, Kim Akers, Louisville, Kentucky; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father.
The funeral service will be at 4 p.m. Saturday, June 3, 2017, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, Kokomo. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
