Cynthia Rae Bozard-Whiteside, 53, Florence, went to be in the presence of the Lord at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, July 2, 2017, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Edgewood, Kentucky. She was born in Kokomo, Indiana on Sept. 8, 1963 to Paul L. Bozard and LaDonna R. (Canter) Bozard. On Sept. 8, 2006 Cindi married Jim Whiteside, her loving husband and best friend in Danville, Indiana.
Cindi attended Haworth High School and was employed at First in Trailer Service in Walton, Kentucky. She was a loving wife, a great mother and a fun loving grandmother to her five grandchildren. Cindi loved life and had a very giving heart. She was always full of laughter and jokes and brought laughter to those around her. Cindi's hobbies were bowling, going to the casino, and Cindi loved the sport of racing and began racing quarter midgets at the age of 5 at Kokomo's Quarter Midget Club. She went on to race micro sprints for her father. More recently, she loved boating and being on the Ohio River. She cherished the time spent with her family and loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Cindi is survived by her husband, Jim Whiteside, Florence; her son, David Christopher Sams, Kokomo; her daughter, Ashley Nicole Martin (AJ), Brownsburg; one brother, Greg Bozard (Abby), McAllen, Texas; two sisters, Kathy Burga (Bill) and Tammy Burge (Bob), both of Kokomo; five grandchildren, Griffin Sams, Daley Sams, Kymarra Sams, Kayla Martin and Drake Martin; mother-in-law, Joyce (Paul) Scholl; three stepdaughters, Danielle, Shelby and Brittany Whiteside; two stepgrandchildren, Anthony and Traydan; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Cindi was preceded in death by her parents and father-in-law.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, July 11, 2017, at The Church of God at 538 E. 400 South, with Pastor David Cochran officiating. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 5 p.m. until the time of the service at 6:30 p.m.
