Carmen Phyllis (Snyder) Moore, 82, Burlington, went to be with our Lord at 11:05 p.m. Thursday, May 4, 2017, at Wellbrooke in Kokomo. She was born Oct. 13, 1934, in Carroll County, to Joseph and Margaret (Bowman) Snyder. She married her high school sweetheart, Howard Moore, on July 11, 1952, and he survives.
Carmen graduated from Burlington High School in 1952 and had worked for Kingston Products and as a clerk and mail carrier for the Flora Post Office. She loved music, playing the piano, golfing and winters in Florida. She was a very loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and cherished spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sons, Brad (Terry) Moore, Burlington, Stan (Deb) Moore, Burlington, and Rod Moore, Kokomo; seven grandchildren, Ryan (Angie) Moore, Rachel (Garrett) Raines, Kate (Steve) Smith, Janelle (Jared) Allbaugh, Kirk (Dennae) Moore, Eric Moore and Tyler Moore; eight great-grandchildren; and sister, Joretta Cosby.
She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Keith Snyder, Vanetta Dyer and Beverly Ashby.
The family would like to thank the staff of Wellbrooke for the wonderful care they provided to Carmen during her stay there.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 8, 2017, at Stout & Son Funeral Home, Neptune Chapel, 44 Michigan St., Burlington, with Pastor Kirk Moore and Dan Butcher officiating. Burial will follow in Burlington Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 2 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
