Anthony "Tony" Marshall Reeser, 79, Greentown, passed peacefully Tuesday, July 4, 2017, at St Vincent Hospice in Indianapolis.
Tony was born March 2, 1938, to his parents Anthony M. Sr. and Goldie Reeser (Scott, Jones) in Cookeville, Tennessee.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Ann Reeser (Word); sons, Michael (Cathy) Reeser and Douglas (Sheila) Reeser, both of Florida; son, John (Stacy) Powell, Wisconsin; daughter, Kimberly Shackelford, Greentown; his grandchildren, Bradley (Samantha) Lear, Dawn (Grant) Walsh, Kristopher and Kyle Reeser, Kayleigh and Kyle Shackelford; and great-grandchildren, Alexis Lear, Gavin, Scarlett and Jude Walsh, Wilyeim, Wyatt, and Libby Cardwell.
Tony was a graduate from Anderson High School and went on to attend Ball State University. He served our nation proudly in the United States Army for six years. He retired from General Motors. For 29 years he was a photographer for United Press International covering the Indianapolis 500 each year. Racing was a huge part of Tony's life, which he embodied working for Gas City Speedway for many years and most recently at Kokomo Speedway. He was a member of the Eagles and attended First Baptist Church in Greentown.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony M. Reeser Sr. and Goldie Scott.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to First Baptist Church with envelopes available at the mortuary. Services will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, July 8, with calling from 1 p.m. at Ellers Mortuary Webster with Pastor Steven Johnson officiating.
