Andrew Timothy Blasius, 53, Kokomo, formerly of Cicero and Noblesville, passed away at 1:35 a.m. Thursday, March 2, 2017, peacefully at his home in Kokomo. He was born Dec. 2, 1963, in Indianapolis, the son of George W. and Mary Jean (Warriner) Blasius.
Andy was a 1983 graduate of Hamilton Southeastern High School and worked for both Warren Township and Westfield Schools in maintenance and grounds keeping. He was a helpful person who enjoyed working with his hands and running his model trains. Andy once came to the aid of a friend whose trailer fell on him by using house jacks that had once been his dad's. He even got on the evening news - his five minutes of fame.
Andy is survived by his sisters, Nancy E. Farmer, Indianapolis, Barbara (Glen) Sharp, Utah, and Sara Blasius, Utah; brothers, Bruce (Darrell) Blasius and David Blasius, both Kokomo; six nephews; one niece; four grand-nieces and nephews; and sister-in-law, Kim Blasius.
Andy was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Paul E. Blasius and Jarrod R. Blasius.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff at Southern Care Hospice for the care and compassion given to Andy during his illness.
A gathering for family and friends will be 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday, March 5, at Bruce and Darrell's house.
