William Tanner Sturch, 93, passed away Sunday, Feb. 4, 2018, at Waterford Place. William was born to William and Ida Sturch on July 8, 1924, in Pangburn, Arkansas.
William raised five children with Margaret (Ross) Sturch. William worked at General Tire in Wabash for 29 ½ years. He later married his wife of 27 years, the Rev. Io Agnes Garlitt, and together, they served in Wabash Church of God. Io passed away Aug. 10, 1998. William enjoyed gardening and woodworking. He crafted mantel clocks. William was a man of God. He will be missed by his family and friends.
William is survived by his companion of 20 years, Veda Allen; children, Bill (Julie) Sturch, Bruce (Susan) Sturch, Don (Carla) Sturch, Brenda (Bruce) Linkenhoker, and David (Siobhan) Sturch; 16 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
William was preceded in passing by his wife, Io, three brothers, and two sisters.
Family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 8 at Ellers Mortuary, Webster Street Chapel. A funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 9. Pastor Brad Swain will officiate. William will be laid to rest at Albright Cemetery.
