Wanita Joan Jones passed away peacefully in her home in the morning of Dec. 28, 2017. She was 84 years old. Born May 10, 1933, in Kokomo, she was the daughter of Loyd and Florence (Roberts) McFall. On June 3, 1950, she married her husband Ralph Jones. He preceded her in death in 1988.
Wanita retired from Delco Electronics in 1994 and was a member of the United Auto Workers local 292. She enjoyed camping and fishing with her husband and family members; crocheting, woodworking and stained glass projects. Wanita spent the last few years of her daughter Beth's life caring for her while she battled cancer. Wanita provided a good life for her children and grandchildren and loved spending time with her family.
Wanita is survived by her daughters Cindy Glassburn (Jack), Pam Lange, Barbara Mitchell (Nick); and she helped raise her granddaughter April Stough and great grandson Karter; brothers Bob, Max and Danny McFall, sister Rosie Jones; grandchildren Stacy Vura (Steve), Kathy Evans, R. Dianne McKinney (Gary), Tina Brennan (Rob), Angie Painter (Danny), Melinda Lange and Elizabeth Norris (Wes); 18 great-grandchildren; ten great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death are her parents, husband Ralph, daughter Beth Stough, sisters Reba Hall and Judy Mundell, brother Gene McFall and grandson Jack E. Glassburn Jr.
Final respects may be paid to Wanita on Tuesday, Jan. 2 at Ellers Mortuary Webster Chapel, 3400 South Webster Street between noon and 2 p.m. A celebration of Wanita's life will begin at 2 p.m. If you would like to make a contribution, please make payable to Wanita's 5-year-old great-grandson Karter Stough's savings account for his education fund.
