Viola "Baby" Jean's Story
Viola "Baby" Jean (Carver) Evans, 78, passed away January 30, 2018. She was born August 15, 1939 in Kokomo, Indiana to Richard and Sarah (Konk) Carver.
Viola grew up in Kokomo and in 1957 married Clyde "Duke" Evans and had one daughter, Crystal (Evans) Aldridge; they later divorced. Viola worked for more than 20 years at Delco Electronics in many areas including stick lead. She retired in 1999. During retirement, she enjoyed yard work and gardening, working on crafts, fishing, shopping and her beloved Boston terrier, Sammy. Viola loved her family and spending time with them.
In addition to her parents and ex-husband, Viola was preceded in death by brothers, Charlie, Tom and Danny Carver; sisters, Bonnie (Carver) Taylor and Gloria (Carver) Coates; grandson, Levi Steven Aldridge; nephews, John Carver and Robin Hobbs; and niece, Ashley Loy.
Viola is survived by brothers, Leonard (Kazuco) Carver and Butch (Paula) Carver; daughter, Crystal (Evans) (Steve) Aldridge; granddaughter, Heidi Hamlin; great-grandchildren, Xavier Hamlin, Destiny Hamlin, and Victor Lopez-Gonzalez; and many nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home, 2097 W. Alto Road, Kokomo, IN 46902 on Monday, February 5 from 5-7pm.
