Vickie Jo (Phillips) Long, 63, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2017, at her residence in Kokomo. She was born July 10, 1954, to the late James and Wanda (Stites) Phillips. On June 19, 1982, Vickie was married to Everett Long, and he survives. She had spent some time working for Ray's Drive-In, but mainly stayed home to take care of her husband.
Vickie loved pets, especially cats and dogs. She also enjoyed doing needlework, embroidering, cooking, and anything that involved being outdoors.
In addition to her husband, Vickie is survived by a brother, Jack Phillips; sisters, Brenda Smith and Joyce Oakes; nieces, Kim Oakes and Patricia Marie Long; and nephews, Chris Oakes, Michael Franklin Long, Michael Nathaniel Long, and Daven Long.
In addition to her parents, Vickie was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Patty Long; father-in-law, Cecil Long; and mother-in-law, Virginia June Long.
There will be a public visitation for Vickie from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 7, with a funeral service to follow at 1 p.m. at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions in Vickie's name may be made to the American Cancer Society.
