Vera Helen (Pietrucha) Kosiek, 92, was born in Chicago, Illinois, on April 27, 1925, to the late George and Sophie Pietrucha. She passed away Tuesday, May 9, 2017, in her home in Kokomo. She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester S. Kosiek of Chicago.
A loving mother and grandmother, Vera resided in Kokomo, with her daughter, Cindy (David) Fischer. She is also survived by her brother, Edward Pietrucha; grandchildren, Jerry Strok, Ken (Joanna) Sharp, Steve (Michelle) Sharp, all of Lafayette, Douglas (Crystal) Sharp, Russiaville, Carol Desoto, Eminence, Kentucky, and Julie (Garner) Fischer, Colorado Springs, Colorado. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Victor Desoto, Eminence, Kentucky, Veronica (Nica) Sharp, Lafayette, Adam Sharp, Arcadia, Ireland Sharp, Noblesville, Collin Sharp, Peru, Noah Sharp, Monticello, Jacob Sharp, Lafayette, as well as Madison, Tommy and Christen, all of Russiaville. She is also great-great-grandmother to Dominick Desoto, Kentucky.
Vera loved her grandchildren, gardening, crocheting and tending to her chickens.
A private funeral will be held in Resurrection Cemetery in Justice, Illinois.
