Thomas Wayne Hewitt, 61, Lafayette, passed away on Friday, Jan. 26, 2018, at Franciscan Health Lafayette East. He was born Nov. 18, 1956, in Kokomo, to Paul and Mary (Perry) Hewitt of Kokomo.
Wayne graduated from Carroll High School in 1975 and Dayton University in Dayton, Ohio. He was a veteran of the Army serving from 1975 to 1978. On June 25, 1994, he married Julie Thomas in Russiaville and she survives.
Wayne worked as a loan officer for Ruoff Home Mortage, Hallmark Mortgage, GMAC and Century 21. He had also worked for Brand Electric and ALCOA. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling to the Smoky Mountains and spending time with family.
Surviving with his wife are his daughters, Whitney Kimberling, Lafayette, and Jennifer (Will) Woosley, Waco, Texas; and grandchildren, Eastyn, Wayde, Jacen, Abbie, Cadie, Brookie and Jessie. Also surviving is his brother, Ed Hewitt; and sister, Paula (Michael) Jackson, all of Kokomo; nephew, Austin Overley; and nieces, Brandi Earl and Ciera Overley.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until the time of the service at 6 p.m. Thursday at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd.
