Thelma L. DeWitt Thelma L. DeWitt, 90, Kokomo, passed away peacefully at 6:05 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2018, at Waterford Place, Kokomo. She was born Dec. 16, 1927, in Logansport, the daughter of the late Herbert and Cecelia Rector Frick. On July 28, 1946, in Logansport, she married Howard E. DeWitt, who preceded her in death Jan. 16, 1990.
During her lifetime, Thelma worked as a department manager for Watson's and Lane's Department Stores, as well as a factory in Flora, Indiana. She owned and ran a successful catering business. Thelma loved hosting parties and playing games with her family and friends. She was past president of the Ladies VFW auxiliary, and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She was blessed with and loved and cared for her grandchildren, her great-grandchildren and Kylee, her great-great-granddaughter, who always made her smile.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to Bob and Peg Denton and Ivan and Paula Carter, her neighbors who graciously watched over her.
Thelma is survived by her daughters, Sandra Grawcock and Rhinda (Terry) Baumfalk; her grandchildren, Neal (Bendi) Grawcock, Julie (Dan) Ward, Keely(Aaron) Lineback, Robert (Tracy) Collins, Matthew (Jenny) Collins, Brian (Richelle) Baumfalk. Also surviving are 14 great-grandchildren and two great-great-granddaughters.
Thelma was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Charles Grawcock, and her great-grandson, Kyle Collins.
Friends may call from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 11, at Cree Funeral Home, Camden, Indiana. Funeral services are 2 p.m. in Cree Chapel, with Pastor Jeremy Johnson, of Grace Ambassador's Church, officiating. Burial will follow in the Camden Cemetery.
