Terry W. Kelly passed away Friday, Nov. 3, 2017, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family. He was born Aug. 15, 1957, in Portland, Indiana, to Samuel and Vallerya Kelly. He married Kathryn R. Galbraith of Peru, Indiana, on April 4, 1991. They were married for 26 years.
He graduated from Northwestern High School in 1977. He started working at Kokomo Chrysler Casting Plant in 1986 as a die caster. He was awarded employee of the month in August of 2007. He was an active member of the UAW local 1166. Terry enjoyed traveling. His favorites were amusement parks and concerts. More than that, he loved sharing all that with his family. He never looked down on anyone; he was quick to love and was never big on holding grudges. He went above and beyond what would have been required of him in every aspect of his life.
He truly enjoyed time with his two sons, Dakota and Hunter, and his three stepdaughters, Tabatha, Michelle, and Robin, whom he raised from very young ages. They all meant the world to him. Not only did he raise them, he was their dad, he took the time to know their friends, and their music, and didn't just do it, he truly enjoyed it. Not only was he a great dad, he was an excellent pa pa to nine grandkids. He never missed a birthday or school event. He was a very active and positive role model in all of their lives.
He is survived by his wife, Kathryn "Kathy" Kelly, Logansport, Indiana; a brother, John Kelly, Frankfort, Indiana; two sisters, Linda Green, Flora, Indiana, and Mary Sullivan, Kokomo, Indiana; his children, Dakota Kelly and Hunter Kelly, Logansport, Indiana, Tabatha Stambaugh, Kokomo, Indiana, Michelle Hughes, Peru, Indiana, and Robin Deetz, Martinsville, Indiana; his grandchildren, Jon Harris, James Stambaugh, and Atreyu Stambaugh, Kokomo, Indiana, Jami Stambaugh, Columbus, Indiana, Brittany Hughes, Logansport, Indiana, Dustin Hughes and Dylan Hughes, Peru, Indiana, and Neo Deetz and Trinity Deetz, Martinsville, Indiana; one great-granddaughter, Shyla Harris, Kokomo, Indiana.
