Shirley M. Fourhman, 81, Kokomo, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2017, at St. Vincent Kokomo. She was born to the late Clayton and Martha Phillips on Nov. 17, 1935, in Kokomo. She married Gordon Fourhman on Aug. 14, 1971, and he preceded her in death on April 14, 2015.
Shirley graduated from Kokomo High School in 1953. She moved to Cleveland, Ohio, where she lived for nearly 50 years. In 1968, she went to work for Kmart as the personnel director until her retirement in 1988. In 1997, she and her husband moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, and lived there until 2005, when they moved back to Kokomo to be closer to where her daughter lives.
Shirley enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren when they were little, reading, shopping, going to the casinos and housekeeping.
Survivors include her daughter, Lynne (David) Buckalew, Kokomo; son, Nick (Lisa) Hulswitt, Martinsville; two grandchildren, Ryan (Raina) Buckalew, Indianapolis, and Aarron (Natalie) Hulswitt, Cleveland, Ohio; three great-grandchildren, Adia, Zola and Nyles Buckalew; two brothers, Bill Phillips, Kokomo, and George Phillips, Las Vegas, Nevada; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Ruth; brother, Donnie; granddaughter, Sarah; and great-grandson, Aarron Jr.
