Ruth Irene Federspill


Ruth Irene Federspill, 96, Kokomo, passed away at 10:55 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, 2019, at Northwoods Village, Kokomo. She was born Nov. 2, 1922, in Kokomo, the daughter of the late Joseph and Edna (Flick) Anderson. On May 29, 1943, she married George Federspill, who preceded her in death Jan. 28, 1995.
Ruth was a homemaker who loved bowling up until the age of 88, and walked every day until the age of 89. Ruth was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, the D of I, Kokomo Bowling Association, K.O.F.F. (Kids Over Fifty-Five), and Rosary Sodality. She enjoyed doing word searches, and spending time with Franz and Sandy.
Ruth is survived by her son, Franz, and daughter-in-law, Sandy, who she considered a daughter; grandchildren, Tom Melton, Michael Federspill, and Stacy Osswald; great-grandchildren, Tommy Melton, Jared Melton, Mia Federspill, Ava Federspill, Landon Osswald, Hudson Osswald, and Owen Federspill; along with several sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Charlotte Ruth Federspill; and brothers, Carl Anderson, John Anderson, George Anderson, and Glen Anderson.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 12, 2019, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1229 N. Washington St., with the Rev. Father Brian Dudzinski the celebrant. Entombment will follow in Sunset Memory Garden. Friends are invited to visit with the family noon to 1 p.m. Thursday at the church.
