Rosalie's Story

Rosalie J. Wallace, 90, Tipton, died at 3:18 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 3, 2017, at I.U. Health Tipton Hospital. She was born Dec. 15, 1926, in Ambia, to Rex and Ruth (Hallock) Van Allen. She married William D. Wallace on Jan. 15, 1960, and he preceded her in death Oct. 29, 2004.
Rosalie had worked as a secretary at Boyer Insurance Agency in Kempton and had also been the organist at Kempton Christian Church. She was a member of Fairfield Christian Church. Rosalie was a 1945 graduate of Clarks Hill High School and graduated from Lincoln Christian College in Illinois.
Survivors include two stepsons, Dennis P. Wallace, Westfield, and Rodney D. Wallace, Kokomo; one brother, Rich Van Allen, Clarks Hill; one sister, Rosemond Davis, California; six stepgrandchildren; 16 stepgreat-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Rosalie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one stepdaughter, Marjorie L. Wise; and one stepgreat-great-grandson, Grayson Jacob William Collins.
Rosalie's funeral will be at 3 p.m. Monday, Aug. 7, at Young-Nichols Funeral Home, with burial to follow in Kempton Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Monday.
