Roger Eugene Herren, 74 of Kokomo passed away at 7:28 a.m. Thursday September 27, 2018 at his residence. Born May 3, 1944 in Kokomo, he was the son of the late Robert Herren Sr. and Rosemary (Wyles) Herren. He was a veteran, serving in the United States Army in the Vietnam War. On December 30, 1977 he married Linda Lou (Dilkes), and she survives. He was employed with Chrysler Corporation for 34 years, retiring in 2007. He was a member of the U.A.W. Local #685, VFW Post #1152; he also enjoyed woodworking and was an avid fisherman.
Survivors include his wife of over 40 years, Linda Lou (Dilkes) Herren of Kokomo; three sons Robert Moore, Troy Moore, and John Moore all of Kokomo; one daughter Laura Leigh Moore of Kokomo; two sisters Patty Fivecoate of Kokomo and Barbara (Dale) Jarrett of Florida. There are also seven grandchildren Leah, Joshua, Kayla, Jennifer, Trenton, Caleigh, C.J.; also several great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and son Daniel Paul Herren in 1986; also by two brothers Robert Herren Jr. and Jackie Herren.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at Ellers Mortuary Main Street Chapel, 725 South Main Street, Kokomo. Chaplain John Greene will officiate. Burial with military rites by the U.S. Army and the Kokomo Military Rites Team will follow at Crown Point Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary.
