Robert Max King

Robert "Bob" King, 80, passed away June 16, 2019, at his home in Forest, Indiana. Bob was born Sept. 18, 1938, in Pickard, Indiana, to the late Leon and Hazel (Merrill) King.
Bob graduated from Sugar Creek Township High School in Pickard, Indiana. While in school, Bob played and was the star for their basketball team. Following high school, Bob worked as a tool and die maker, starting at Kokomo Spring, and then for Progress Tool and Die. He retired in 2004 after more than 30 years of employment.
On June 7, 1969, Bob married the love of his life, June Carol King in Sheridan, Indiana, and she survives. They had just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary earlier this month.
Bob was a member of Forest Baptist Church. When he was not working, Bob enjoyed fishing, traveling, and playing bass guitar for his band. He would also meet with his co-workers from Kokomo Spring (Jim, Bob, Steve, and David) every month for breakfast. Above all, Bob was very family-oriented and enjoyed watching his grandchildren in their activities.
In addition to his wife, June Carol King, Bob is survived by his children, Rodney (Julie) King, Tamy (David) Ralstin, Randall Davis, and Kella Davis; grandchildren, Nathaniel Ralstin, Jonathan Ralstin, Candace Helm, Nicholas Helm, and Angela Galm; and three great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by a son, Michael Wayne Helm, and a brother, Billy Dean King.
There will be a public visitation for Bob at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home on Saturday, June 22, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with a funeral service immediately following. Bob will then be laid to rest at Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery.
Bob's family would like to extend their appreciation to Guardian Angel Hospice for their kindness and care during Bob's final days. Memorial contributions in Bob's name may be made to Guardian Angel Hospice.

Bob was my class mate and neighbors for many years. I remember him as a quite and gentle man. He will be missed.
