Rebecca Sue Wilson

Events

On Monday morning, Rebecca Sue Wilson left this world to join the Lord in the next. She passed at the age of 77 due to complications following heart surgery. She was the daughter of Donald and Eunice Alexander.
Rebecca was driven in life by love of family, passion for pursuing dreams, and deep faith in the Lord. She was never one to let anything come before her family, demonstrating her love through teaching her children and grandchildren how to grow to become successful and kind people. Sewing, square dancing, 4-H, and Indy car and NASCAR racing, this was the recipe that created her unique interests.
Square dancing allowed her to create a community of friendship and love, mixed with a little dancing. For the last 20 years she chaired and/or gave demonstrations in "Sew and Save" for the Indiana State Square Dance Conventions and several National Square Dance Conventions. She and Lowell were education chairmen for the 48th NSDC and for Fashion Show, 59th NSDC.
Lowell Wilson and Becky Alexander were married July 7, 1962, at St. Bernard's Catholic Church, Wabash, Indiana. The couple met at a Rural Youth meeting and Square Dance in 1958.
After Becky's graduation from Purdue University, B.A., and Ball State University, M.A., they moved in 1973 to Kokomo, where she taught home arts at Maconaquah School for 23 years and retired to operate her own sewing business in her home.
Rebecca was preceded in death by her son, Lowell Howard Wilson, and brother, Robert Joseph Alexander.
Those she leaves behind include her loving husband, Lowell Houston Wilson; her three compassionate daughters, Evelyn (Bob) Burton, Debbie (Jeff) Chinn, and Kathy (Roger) Garrett; her beloved brother, Kenneth Alexander; her nine cherished grandchildren; and her one adorable great-granddaughter. Her legacy of love will live on through those she touched throughout her life.
There will be a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, 2018, at Saint Maria Goretti Catholic Church, 17102 Spring Mill Road, Westfield, IN 46074, with Father Kevin Haines celebrating. Interment will follow at Albright Cemetery, Kokomo. There will be a time of visitation from 4 until 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 7, and rosary service at 7:30 p.m., also at the church.
