Rebecca "Becky"'s Story
Rebecca "Becky" Marie Collins, 74, Kokomo, passed away at 10:39 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 22, 2017, at Community Howard Regional Health. She was born Jan. 14, 1943, in Elwood, to Ray Keith and Mildred Marie (Osborne) Pullen. On Aug. 3, 1963, she married Jimmie Collins at First Baptist Church in Elwood, and he preceded her in death on Aug. 26, 2017.
Becky graduated from Wendell L. Willkie High School in 1961, graduating in the top 10 of her class. She was the owner and operator of Craft Connection, formerly named Natures House, and also worked for Delco Electronics for five years, was a dietician at St. Joseph Hospital, and had a ceramic shop in her home. But, the most important job she had, beginning in 1973 and continuing to this day, was being the most positive and most awesome mother to her children.
She is survived by her daughters, Hazel (Steve) White, North Judson, and Linda (Alvin Kennedy) Collins, Kokomo; grandchildren, Brandon White, Brent White, Bethany White, April Wray, Austin Wray, Tiana Kennedy, MacKenzie Kennedy, Maliah Kennedy, A.J. Kennedy and Javin Kennedy; great-grandchildren, Deven White, Dakota White, Julien White, Jaedon White and Adalyn Wray; sisters, Claudia Ann (Jim) Pedro, Doris Elizabeth "Betty" Kohn and Mary Marvel Atwood; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son; daughter, Linda Kay Collins; and an infant sister.
A celebration of Becky's life will be at 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 27, 2017, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, with Richard Stroud officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
