Raymond Dale Johnson, 75, Kokomo, passed away at 5:38 p.m. Friday, Feb. 2, 2018 at Community Howard Regional Health. Born July 22, 1942, in Kokomo, he was the son of the late Larry Johnson and Melva Jean (Williams) Johnson. On June 9, 1972, in Kokomo, he married Sharon Elaine (Bays), and she survives.
He was a firefighter for the City of Kokomo for 20 years, retiring in 1989. He was a member of the International Fire Investigators in Indianapolis and was also an arson investigator. He was a music disc jockey years ago and currently participated in Indian Rendezvous.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon Elaine Johnson, Kokomo; three sons, Chip (Karyn) Johnson, Kokomo, Lance (Derinda) Creamer, Fayetteville, Arkansas, and Layne (Mary) Creamer, Monterrey, Mexico; eight grandchildren, Lynae Helton, Malaysha Chappel, Nakota Creamer, Corgan Shepard, Kaiden Johnson, Lacey Blessing, Miranda Presley, and Alicia Simmons. There are also seven great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Dixie Martin.
A celebration of life will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, 2018, at St. Luke's United Methodist Church, 700 Southway Blvd. E., Kokomo. Pastor Mitch Norwood will officiate. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church.
