Raymond F. Burns


Raymond F. Burns, 90, passed away June 16, 2019. He was surrounded by his loving family at Ascension St. Vincent, Kokomo.
He had served in the U.S. Navy, worked high steel construction many years and had worked on several of the buildings erected on Ball State University's campus. He then retired from Delco Remy, Anderson.
He had a great love of boating on the Ohio River. He was an excellent marksman and won many of the competitions at Friendship, Indiana. He also enjoyed and was an excellent woodworker, having made several dulcimer instruments.
He is survived by son, Forest Burns; daughter, Michelle Burns, New Castle; grandsons, Justin Burns, Muncie, and Christopher Burns, New Castle. He leaves Julia Farrington, fiancée, and many other family members and friends.
Deep appreciation is expressed to all the wonderful nurses and caregivers at St. Vincent for their special care for him, and to Dr. Eric Tuchscherer for his excellent, compassionate care during Raymond's final days.
There will be no services, and cremation will be followed by burial at Mount Summit (Indiana) Cemetery.

Sorry to hear this news. I always thought very highly of Raymond & Barbara. I had many wonderful times at their house when I was growing up. Keeping Forest, Michelle, & family in my thoughts & prayers during this difficult time.
