Priscilla E. Simmons, 92, Fort Wayne, passed away at 9:15 p.m. Friday, Dec. 22, 2017, at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne. She was born Sept. 6, 1925, in East Meadow, New York, to Walter and Mina Emily (Miller) Seidler. On Aug. 22, 1948, she married Edwin R. Simmons, and he preceded her in death on Sept. 8, 1995.
Priscilla was a 1942 graduate of New London High School. She worked as a secretary for the Lawrence County Extension Office, as a special education paraprofessional for North Lawrence Community Schools, from where she retired, and after her retirement she worked for the Indiana University Golf Course. She enjoyed sewing, needlework and reading, and cherished spending time with and spoiling her grandchildren. She was a member of the Bedford Gamma Chapter Tri Kappa Service Sorority, Lawrence County Business and Professional Women and Saint Joseph United Methodist Church in Fort Wayne.
She is survived by one son, Christopher L. Simmons, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania; one daughter, Constance Ann (Robert) Kattner, Leo; one daughter-in-law, Marie Simmons; and four grandchild, Olivia I. Kattner, Margo E. Kattner, Alexander E. Simmons and Justin D. Simmons.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Lindsay C. Simmons; and one sister, Susanna Palmer.
Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 28, 2017, at D.O. McComb & Sons Funeral Home, Pine Valley Park, 1320 E. Dupont Road, Fort Wayne, with Pastor Russell Abel officiating. Friends may call from 3 to 6 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will take place at 11 a.m. on Friday in New London Cemetery in New London.
