Norma's Story

Norma Joan Stark Laudeman, formerly of Dyer, Griffith and Schererville, passed away in Kokomo on Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2018. She was born to Otto and Elizabeth (Teutemacher) Stark on April 10, 1930. She married her high school sweetheart, Richard Hillis Laudeman, at St. Joseph Church in Dyer on June 21, 1950. He preceded her in death Dec. 15, 1988.
Norma was a devout Catholic and played the organ and sang for funerals and weddings at St. Joseph Church. Norma enjoyed bowling, doing crossword puzzles, playing pinochle, camping, playing Scrabble, and watching the Cubs, Bears and Purdue games.
Surviving are her three children, Janet (Steve) Evans, Utah, Linda (Don) Pagel, Russiaville, Richard (Nancy) Laudeman, Fort Wayne; brother-in-law, James Kuyper, Arizona; sister-in-law, Mary Stark, Arizona. Grandchildren include Stephanie (Steve) Gauslow, Sarah (Dan) Stucki, Samantha (Randy) Degenhart, Shawna (Bob) McCauley, Stacey (Brandon) Evans, Nancy (Chuck) Lundquist, David (Angie) Northcutt, Julie (Jonathon) Perron, Laura and Diana Laudeman. Great-grandchildren are Claire Patterson, Marlowe Stucki, Colin and Louis Degenhart, Abigail, Calvin and Evan McCauley, Aubrey and Adam Lundquist, Hallie, Leyla and Luke Northcutt, Isaac and Reagan Perron, and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were sister, Anna Mae (Bud) Schweitzer; brother, Richard Stark; brother-in-law, William (Ceil) Kuyper; sisters-in-law, Jane (Eddie) Miller, Ruth Ellen (Joe) Bisbee, LuCeil (Paul) Warrington, Doris Kuyper; three nieces and two nephews.
Visitation services will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 6, at Lincoln Ridge Funeral Home in Schererville. There will be a brief service at Lincoln Ridge at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 7, followed by Mass at St. Michael Church in Schererville at 10:30 a.m.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Waterford Place Health Campus and ViaQuest Hospice.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Michael's Building Fund or Food for the Poor.
