Neal Edward Bliss, 65, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2017, in Kokomo, while surrounded by his loving family. Neal was born Aug. 10, 1952, in Kokomo to the late Neal Bliss Jr. and Mary Frances (Shimer) Bliss.
Neal graduated from Kokomo High School in 1971, and then enlisted in the United States Army and served his country honorably until being discharged in 1974. Once he returned to civilian life, Neal resumed work at the Chrysler plant in Kokomo for 30 years, retiring in November of 2001.
On Oct. 7, 2007, Neal was married to the love of his life, Mary "Ellen" King, and she survives. Neal was a member of Local 685, and loved being home, fishing, garden work and doing home improvement projects.
In addition to his wife, Neal is survived by a sister, Susan (Jeffrey) Leffert, Walton, Indiana; sister-in-law, Emma Bliss, Arkansas; several nieces and nephews; and his four-legged friends, Cody, Zach and Bo.
In addition to his parents, Neal was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Bliss.
Neal's favorite saying was: "Have a good day, keep a good thought!"
Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home is handling cremation arrangements for Neal, and he will be laid to rest at Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery at a later date.
Memorial contributions in Neal's name may be made to the Kokomo Humane Society.
