Max Edward Catron, 93, rural Russiaville, died Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2018, at Mulberry Health. He was born Dec. 20, 1924, in Clinton County to Jess and Grace D. (Kesler) Catron. He married Melba McIlrath on Aug. 7, 1947, and she preceded him in death Aug. 16, 2015.
Max was a 1942 graduate of Burlington High School. A lifelong farmer, he also worked for Delco General Motors for 31 years. Max was a member of the Oakland Christian Church, where he had served as trustee. He also served on the board of directors for the Geetingsville Telephone Co.
Surviving are a daughter, Linda Uitts, Frankfort; son, Mike (Charlyn) Catron, rural Frankfort; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold Catron and Lank Catron, three sisters, Katheryn Byrum, Josephine Hodson and Bonnie Brown; and a son, Mark Catron.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 5, 2018, at the Goodwin Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will be in Middlefork Cemetery.
