Mary's Story

Mary Louise Williams, 90, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2017, at Wellbrooke of Kokomo. She was born Dec. 19, 1926, to Charles and Sarah (Chapman) Robertson in their Memphis, Tennessee, home. Mary graduated from Humes High School in Memphis in 1944. On Nov. 17, 1945, she married her husband of nearly 66 years, Clarence J. Williams. He preceded her in passing Oct. 12, 2011.
Mary worked as a clerk for Delco Electronics for 34.1 years.
Mary and Clarence lived in Florida for 12 years, first in Winter Garden, then in Tavares. They moved back to Kokomo later on to be with grandchildren. Mary enjoyed dancing, bowling, and golfing with friends. She also loved to play games, including card games like euchre and rummy.
Mary is survived by her children, Alan (Sonja Kreigsmann) Williams and Kathy (Bill) Heflin; grandchildren, Bailey (Kyle) Martin and Madison Heflin; brothers, Charles and George Robertson; and one great-grandchild on the way.
Mary was preceded in passing by her husband; her parents; and her sister, Margaret (Charles) Jerrett.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Washington and all who cared for Mary in her final days.

Friends and family may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 6, 2017, and Tuesday from 10 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2017, at Ellers Mortuary, Webster Street Chapel. A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2017, also at the mortuary. Mary will be laid to rest in Sunset Memory Garden.
