Mary E. Blangy, 89, Kokomo, passed away at 11:40 p.m. Friday, Feb. 2, 2018, at St. Vincent Kokomo. She was born Oct. 5, 1928, in Ervin Township, the daughter of Ray and Pearl (Wilson) Blangy.
Mary was a 1942 graduate of Ervin Township High School. She retired from Delco Electronics after 40 years of service. She volunteered with the Howard County Genealogy Society, researching extensively with historical genealogy. In her younger years, Mary enjoyed traveling, gardening, and collecting Indian artifacts.
Mary was a member of Bethel Friends Church, on the board of North Union Cemetery, and had been involved with Flea Market Booth & Vending. She was a very kind person to everyone and would help anyone in need. Mary was an animal lover and always had dogs and cats to care for.
Mary is survived by her cousins, Dr. Jack (Carrie) Ellman, Sara (Steven) Bliss, Phillip (Jennifer) DeVecchio, Elva Mazabel, Juan Esteban Mazabel, Jorge Mazabel, Laura (Curt) Hurley, John (Rita) Elleman, Eryn (Mike) Green, Mara (Dirk) Webster, Neal (Vanessa) Bliss, Kristin Delvecchio, Anthony (Mollie) Delvecchio, and Carlyn (Nathan) Absher.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Pearl Blangy, and brother, Richard R. Blangy.
Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 8, 2018, at Stout & Son Funeral Home, 200 E. Main St., Russiaville, with Pastor Jason Grant officiating. Burial will follow in North Union Cemetery.
