Martin Richard "Dick" Moeller, 84, Kokomo, passed away at 1:10 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2017, at his home. He was born Oct. 24, 1932, in Tipton County, the son of the late Martin Herman and Velma Ruth (Beaty) Moeller. On June 5, 1954, at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Tipton, he married Florence Doversberger, and she survives.
Dick was a 1950 graduate of Western High School. He was owner and operator of Dick Moeller Trucking & Excavating, hauling many loads of stone, sod, and aggregate for homes and businesses. He also served as dump truck hauler for Martin Marietta, and served 23 years with Yeoman Stone Quarry.
Dick was a faithful member of Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer, where he served as deacon, was on the board of properties, mowed and did snow removal, and sang in the choir. Dick loved the Lord, his family, his church, his friends, his work, music and traveling.
Dick is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Florence Moeller, Kokomo; daughters, Joyce (Warren) Mickens, Lone Tree, Colorado, Barbara Moeller, Tipton, and Mary Moeller, Amboy; grandsons, Jarrett Mickens, Detroit, Michigan, and Justin Mickens, Chicago, Illinois; sister, Carolyn Day, Tipton; brothers, Perry (Jean) Moeller, Tipton, and Ron (Ricky) Moeller, Kokomo; along with several nieces and nephews.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Lois Padgett.
The family would like to give a grateful thank you to Southern Care Hospice for their kindness and compassionate care, especially Tess and Nicole, and to his doctors, and to all family and friends for their help and prayers in many ways.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 18, 2017, at Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer, 705 Southway Blvd. E., with Pastors William Allison and Barry Akers officiating. Burial will follow in Albright Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the church, and one hour prior to service on Monday.
