Marjorie's Story

Marjorie E. (Warman) Bailey, 92, Kokomo, passed away at 6 a.m. Tuesday, July 4, 2017, at Waterford Place in Kokomo. She was born March 22, 1925, in Queens, New York, the daughter of the late Leo P. and May (Hennesy) Warman. On July 3, 1942, she married J.L. Bailey, who preceded her in death.
Marjorie graduated in 1942 from Goldsmith High School. She retired from the Kokomo High School Bookstore after 20 years, and had also worked for Sweet Book Store. Marjorie was a member of Main Street Methodist Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher for many years and impacted the lives of many of her students that were in her Sunday school class. She was also a member of the Materian Club.
Marjorie is survived by her sons, Jeffrey B. (Sue) Bailey, Naples, Florida, and Norman J. (Julie) Bailey, Kokomo; nieces, Jill Andrus, California, Connie Hughes, California, Jacquie Joyner, Florida, Janice Polk, Florida, Chris Kvidera, Minnesota, and Kathleen Brannon, South Carolina; and nephews, James Stroup, Florida, and Michael Warman, California.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents; husband; twin brother, Thomas Warman; and sisters, Monzetta Cole, and Juanita Schoener.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 9, 2017, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, with Pastor Duane Carlisle officiating. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
