Marjorie and her four sisters and two brothers worked hard on the family farm and indeed walked the two miles to and from school every day.
She attended St. John's Catholic School and continued there through her graduation from Loogootee High School in 1947. She began her college career at St. Mary of the Woods before moving to Bloomington to graduate from Indiana University. Years later, she returned to Bloomington by driving from Indianapolis three nights a week after teaching school to earn her master's degree in education, while raising three young children.
June 26, 1954, she married the love of her life, Thomas J. Reising in St John's Church. They remained together raising their four children until his passing on Dec. 26, 2007.
After beginning her teaching career in Elkhart, Indiana, she taught elementary school at Pleasant Run Elementary in Indianapolis. The family moved in 1969 to Kokomo, where she taught at Ervin Elementary and Northwestern Elementary until she retired in 1995. She positively influenced children for over 43 years of her career. Marge was an active member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Tri-Kappa, PEO, and Chi Omega Sorority. Marjorie also worked for many years as a poll worker during the elections. She enjoyed sewing. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandma, and a good friend to many people.
Marjorie is survived by her sons, Jeff (Melissa) Reising, Noblesville, and Steve (Susan) Reising, Fishers; grandchildren, Alexandrea Pendygraft, Zack Reising, Michael Reising, Lauren Reising, Thomas Reising, and Kyle Steidle; sister, Ann O'Neal; and 19 nieces and nephews.
