Marion Ellis, 83, Greentown, passed away at 3:20 p.m. Monday, May 29, 2017, at his residence. He was born June 15, 1933, in Marion, Indiana, to Jesse and Anabella (Ritter) Ellis. He married Linda Ellis on Jan. 10, 1987, at Macedonia Christian Church in Kokomo. He had previously been married to Betty (Bontrager) Dufek from 1953 to 1976 and they had four sons.
He had been a bookkeeper for Tipton County Farm Bureau Co-op for 20 years and had also worked at Stellite for 23 years. He graduated from Eastern High School in 1951. He was a member of Fairfield Christian Church. He was a member of the Greentown Lions Club for a number of years.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Ellis; children, Greg (Brenda) Ellis, Greentown, Eric (Myra) Ellis, Kokomo, Steve (Patty) Ellis, Mishawaka, and John (Kim) Ellis, Greentown; grandchildren, Christy Ellis, Natalie Ellis, Christopher Ellis, Jayne Ellis, Zachary Ellis, and Matthew Ellis; four great-grandchildren, Shelby, Brittany, Courtney and Braden; stepchildren, Sabrina (Robert) Moe, Monroe, North Carolina, Michael (Kim) Day, Sharpsville; stepgrandchildren, Dr. Korbin (Erin) Bray, Winston Salem, North Carolina, Breanne Moe, Monroe, North Carolina, Adam Day, Sharpsville, Allison (Jared) Sellers, Sweetser.
He was preceded in death by father, Jesse Ellis; mother, Ida Anabella (Ellis) Hatfield; brother, Fred Ellis; and sister, Betty.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday at Fairfield Christian Church, 1476 E. 400 South, Oakford. Pastors Lynn Coleman, Keith Crammer and Roy King will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Greentown, following the service. Visitation for family and friends will be 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Fairfield Christian Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to The ARK Christian Ministries, 3522 N. 1000 W. 27, Converse, IN 46919.
