Marilyn Kay Doversberger, 69, Kokomo, passed peacefully of natural causes at her home Friday, Sept. 29, 2017. Marilyn was born July 30, 1948, to her parents, Kenneth and Ruth Doversberger (Burkher) in Kokomo.
She is survived by her brother, Ron (Linda) Doversberger, two nephews, two great-nephews, and her good friend, Bonnie.
Marilyn was passionate in her love of music and studied piano at the Indiana University School of Music. She had the gift of "perfect pitch" and was able to listen to a song and play it on the piano instantly.
Marilyn's steadfast Christian faith was a constant source of comfort and strength as she struggled with lifelong mental and physical challenges. Marilyn had a delightful, teasing sense of humor even in the face of adversity, and she was devoted to her cats, who gave her great joy and companionship.
The family deeply appreciates all of the kind people in the community who have extended themselves over many years and in many ways to help Marilyn.
A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 5, 2017, at Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery, 2097 W. Alto Road, with Pastor William Allison officiating.
Memorial contributions may be given to Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer, 705 Southway Blvd. E., Kokomo, IN 46902, or Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 121 Santa Fe Blvd., Kokomo, IN 46901, or to a charity of the donor's choice.
