Margaret "Joy" Miller, 83, Sharpsville, passed away at 8:16 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 24, 2018, at St. Vincent Kokomo. She was born July 8, 1934, in Sharpsville, to William Lawrence and Maud Oletha (Lewellen) Conaway. On Jan. 14, 1955, she married Theodore H. Miller, and he preceded her in death Aug. 22, 1998.
Joy was a devoted homemaker but also worked for 12 years at Delco and operated a daycare in her home. She enjoyed baking wedding cakes and was a member of Sharpsville United Methodist Church, where she served as church treasurer for 35 years.
Survivors include her daughter, Melinda Jill Miller, Indianapolis; grandchildren, Tyler Miller, Sharpsville, Joey Butler, Indianapolis, and Kylie Ann Miller, Sharpsville; sister, Janice Worley Ellis, Sharpsville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Melissa Renee Miller; brothers, Aubrey Conaway, Wilbur Conaway, Don Conaway and Charles Jarrett; and sisters, Martha Louise Conaway, Betty Jewell Conaway, Norma Jean Heffelmire and Mary E. Smith.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, March 2, 2018, at Sharpsville United Methodist Church, 228 W. Meridian St., Sharpsville, with the Rev. Mandie Gould officiating. Burial will follow in Sharpsville Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the church.
