Margaret "Margie" Lee Miller, 78, Kokomo, passed away at 10:37 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2017, at Community Howard Regional Health. She was born April 2, 1939, in Kokomo, to James M. and Adeline (Jameson) Rouse.
Margaret graduated from Kokomo High School in 1957 and went on to work at Delco for over 30 years before retiring in 1998. She was a very proud Grandma/Nanny Miller. Her grandbabies were her world, and she cherished every moment spent with each one of them. Margaret loved spending time with her family and her many special friends. She made many memories through the years traveling to Lake Michigan, visiting many beaches in Florida, touring historic homes, gardening (she liked getting her hands dirty), cooking for her family, shopping, played a mean game of scrabble, and loved getting a fresh batch of morel mushrooms every spring. She had a great love of water and sunshine.
Survivors include her sons, Jeffery A. Miller, of Noblesville, and David B. Miller, of Logansport; grandchildren, Christy L. (Joel) King, of Russiaville, and Matthew J. Miller, of Noblesville; great-grandchildren, Kiersten, Rylynn, Adlee and Carter; brother, Frank (Jean) Rouse, of Kokomo; sisters, Betty Myers, Joan Courts, Lori Kellar and Susan (Ralph) Shackelford, all of Kokomo; and several special nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Bill, Jerry and Jim Rouse; grandson, Benjamin A. Miller; and three special nephews, Terry, Michael and Rob Kellar.
A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2017, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory, 1315 W. Lincoln Rd., Kokomo, with Pastor Morgan Young officiating. Friends are invited to visit from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in Margaret's memory to St. Jude Children's Hospital or to the charity of one's choice.
