Linda M. Whicker, 68, Fishers, formerly of Kokomo, passed away Saturday, Oct. 28, 2017, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born Dec. 25, 1948, in Kokomo to Charles H. and Mary J. Hinders.
She graduated from Kokomo High School in 1977. Linda worked for Beckley Office Equipment for 32 years. She then went on to work for Delphi for three years before retirement. After retirement, she worked for the Kokomo library downtown for about three years before becoming ill.
Linda belonged to the Kokomo Elks Lodge 190, where she was the first woman to be exhaulted ruler. Then she became a member of Noblesville Elks Lodge 576. She made some wonderful friends by being an Elk and all through her life.
Her passion was Siesta Keys, Florida, where she went every September for 28 years. She also loved her two cats, Callie and Mojo.
Survivors include her son, Philip F. Whicker Jr.; son-in-law, Jeremy Galloway, Fishers; sisters, Belva (Charlie) Yocum, Sue (Gerry) Avery, and Judy; brother, Charles (Pat) Hinders, all of Kokomo; several nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister.
Family and friends will gather for a celebration of life from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, 2017, at Bel Air Events, 3014 S. Webster St., Kokomo, IN 46902.
