Linda Daugherty Friedrich, 77, Treasure Island, Florida, and of Kokomo, passed away at 6:04 p.m. Thursday, July 27, 2017, at St. Vincent Hospital in Kokomo from complications of Multiple-Sclerosis.
Linda was born April 15, 1940, to Lester Harrison and Lola Mae (Murray) Daugherty in Kokomo. On Jan. 23, 1983, she married Jerome W. Friedrich of Treasure Island and Kokomo and he survives.
Linda graduated from Kokomo High School in 1958 and graduated from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana, in 1962, with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree. Linda taught elementary education from 1962 to 1963 in Texas and 1964 in Northwestern School District in Kokomo. She owned and operated Modern Mobile Home Court in Kokomo from 1977 to 1983.
Linda was a very social person who enjoyed Beta Sigma Phi sorority, golfing, and tennis. Her love of antiques was well known and she could never pass up a garage sale. At one time she was an active member of the Republican Party.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her cousins, Bill Daugherty, Kokomo, Nancy Daugherty Waldon, Kokomo, Elena Daugherty Leiter, Florida, John Wood, Washington, D.C., and John Daugherty, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and cousins, Mary Daugherty Parker and Yvonne Daugherty Cross, both of Kokomo.
The family would like to thank Guardian Angel Hospice of Kokomo and Suncoast Hospice of St Petersburg, Florida and the staff of St. Vincent Hospital of Kokomo for their care and support.
Funeral services celebrating Linda's life will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2017, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory, 1315 West Lincoln Road, with Pastor Steve Cole officiating. Burial will follow in Crown Point Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
