Text size

Lila Cross went to be with her Lord on Saturday morning, Feb. 3, 2018. She was born Oct. 9, 1962, in Kokomo, the youngest child of seven, to Fred and Frankie Cross.
Lila attended Western Elementary in Russiaville and graduated with academic honors from Western High School in 1981. She played the flute in the high school band. Lila was a vivacious, intelligent young lady and enjoyed her many high school friendships.
She attended college at Indiana University in Bloomington and finished her degree in business at the IU campus in Kokomo. She always cherished the time that she spent in Bloomington attending college there and loved the area around Bloomington, including Brown County State Park, very much. Lila was recognized throughout her academic years as an outstanding student.
She lived and worked in California for a few years but lived out most of her life in the Russiaville-Kokomo area. She was very good and helpful to her mother during the time that she lived with her in West Middleton.
Lila was a very kind and gentle-spirited person and loved to do things for others. She loved to send cards and gifts to those she cared about. She attended Main Street Christian Church in Russiaville and developed many life-long friendships there.
She will be missed by immediate family, her relatives in Kentucky, her friends at Main Street Christian Church and her many kind and friendly, caring neighbors that she came to know at the Terrace Towers Apartments on Bell Street in Kokomo.
Lila is survived by her brothers, Ben (Susan) Cross, Joe (Kathy) Cross, Clyde (Kim) Cross; and sister, Joyce Cross.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, William Cross; sister, Vera Cross; and stepbrother, Charles Cook.
A private family memorial service will be held at a later date for family and friends. Stout & Son Funeral Home, Russiaville, has been entrusted with arrangements. Messages of condolence may be left online at www.stoutandson.com.
