Kenneth Eugene McClain was born on Jan. 6, 1930, and passed away in Bellevue, Washington, on Sept. 29, 2017, at the age of 87.
He was born in Rockville Centre, New York, to parents Jerome McClain and Elizabeth Honeas. He graduated from Greentown High School in Greentown, Indiana, in June 1947. He then went on to serve in the U.S. Army from September 1947 to February 1970. After retiring he worked as a volunteer at a non-profit in New Mexico as a guardian to provide decision making in health care and living arrangements and to help manage financial affairs to those in need. He also volunteered as a special advocate for abused and neglected children in King County.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Kathryn; children, Kati, Brian, Sharon; daughter in-law, Sue; and grandchildren, Tristan, Haden, Quinn, Lia, Tessa.
A memorial service will be Friday, Oct. 20, 2017, at Holy Spirit Lutheran Church in Kirkland.
